The Purchasing Analyst position is a key role within our strategic plan for Supply Chain management. Excellent organizational skills, ability to balance short term priorities and exceptional information analysis skills are a necessity. Key objectives will be analyzing inventory levels, production speed and product demand to determine reorder levels which will ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs.
Primary responsibilities:
The Purchasing Analyst is responsible for ensuring that appropriate inventory levels is sustained in our facilities to support the advertising and sales demand. This position requires interaction with multiple departments to determine strategies in managing the supply chain.
• Responsible for daily analysis and execution of the procurement process for Retail and Ecommerce sales demand
• Analyze data from various sources to make decisions on optimal purchase quantities
• Assist the Purchasing Department in maintaining target inventory levels in line with forecasts, sales trends and advertising plans
• Performing business analyses to determine strategies and achieve optimal business value
• Ability to execute various analytic strategies for multiple distribution centers
• Execute against purchasing and financial policies/procedures and procurement systems
• Managing projects related to the procurement of business-critical goods and services
• Producing business reports, charts and graphs to assist in managing the business
• Providing technical procurement advice to project oriented, cross-functional teams
• Monitor and update key factors including supplier lead-time, minimum order quantities and DC safety stock resulting in accurate requisition quantities
• Special Projects as assigned by Manager
• A BS/BA in a business/technical discipline or equivalent
• 3-5 years of related experience as a Planner/Analyst/Forecaster in a distribution environment
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with capability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Proven communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to present to senior management
• Project management skills required
• Ability to perform financial and business analysis required
• Specialist with industry subject matter expertise preferred
• CPM/CPSM certification preferred
• Systems (Magento, Dynamic NAV, Accounts Payable, etc.), experience preferred
• Expert user of Microsoft Office Excel
