Currently looking for a passionate Cultivation Manager for our greenhouse facilities in Desert Hot Springs, CA. 

What you'll be doing: 

The Cultivation Manager is responsible for leading Canndescent’s Greenhouse facility in Desert Hot Springs. Areas of responsibility include propagation, vegetation, trimming, and distribution of flower. The Cultivation Manager will ensure that the facility is compliant with all state and local regulations. Additionally, this position will ensure all company policies are upheld and all standard operating procedures are adhered to. The Cultivation Manager directs the efforts of all new research and development regarding cannabis propagation planning and cultivation to ensure Canndescent remains one of the most innovative cultivators of ultra-premium cannabis in the industry.

Your Responsibilities: 

The Cultivation Manager will specifically be responsible for the greenhouse but will have the opportunity for expanded responsibilities as the company expands its cultivation footprint to other locations and states. The Cultivation Manager will also be involved in the design, planning, and delivery of the new greenhouse.


  • Direct and coordinate cultivation activities, such as cloning, planting, harvesting, irrigation, nutrient application, drying, trimming and curing

  • Manage and develop a team of exceptional cultivators who can be deployed to other assignments as the Company scales the business

  • Develop and execute procedural changes in harvesting, drying, curing for greater quality, efficiency, and accuracy

  • Plan and direct development of propagation plan to meet quality and yield targets

  • Evaluate capital improvement needs and prepare requests detailing costs and ROI

  • Develop annual budget and track cost against budget

  • Assure all cultivation procedures are executed properly and efficiently

  • Responsible for production and scheduling of all cultivation duties, including planning for all stages and aspects of growth

  • Ensure all new employees and supervisors are trained in proper and preferred plant care techniques

  • Ensure all records properly maintained and accurate

  • Schedule all manufacturing duties for all stages and aspects of growth

  • Promote employee and manager relations

  • Maintain plant counts and tracking information for inventory

  • Maintains and oversees the seed to sale platform for all operations

  • All other job duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture, Botany, Business Management or related field required, Master's degree preferred

Required Skills & Experience


  • Cannabis cultivation experience desired but not required

  • 10 or more years of commercial greenhouse cultivation experience

  • Proven track record of creating, developing, and executing large-scale commercial operational processes and procedures

  • Strong knowledge of plant varieties with high yield and /or disease and insect resistant characteristics

  • Knowledgeable of growing methods including micronutrients, beneficial bacteria, and nutrient implementation

  • Knowledge of plant diseases, insects, and fungi, as well as plant treatment options

  • Experiencing creating, presenting, and performing within defined annual budgets

  • Experience creating and reporting key performance indicators, weekly/bi-weekly metrics, executive summaries

  • Well researched in new techniques and insight to expand knowledge in nutrient of individual strains, high yield recipes, controlled stress environments to different lighting systems and setups

  • Experience managing and developing high performing teams

  • Must maintain current knowledge and adhere to all policy and regulations of California

  • Excellent analytical, communication and reasoning skills
